Buckles without plates
Single and double frames.

Some of these are buckles which are designed to be used without a plate.
Others are missing their plate but most probably had one during their working life.

Size: 80mm length
Notes: Buckle with double oval frame and 4 acorn terminals. The pin intact and moves freely. The strap would attach to the central bar.

Material: Copper alloy
Size: 28mm width
Notes: Buckle loop has two raised knops with two raised bars in between. A groove to accomodate the pin is central. Use with a folded plate is indicated by the recess at the buckle base. The pin is absent. Similar to buckle 299 found at Trig Lane, London as per MoL Dress Assessories, Egan & Pritchard

Notes: Buckle loop has two raised knops with two raised bars in between. A groove to accomodate the pin is central. Use with a folded plate is indicated by the recess at the buckle base. Notes: Found by metal detecting group in the UK. Buckle loop is D shaped with a slight point where the pin rests. Use with a plate is not indicated. The pin is present and moves freely but possibly not original. Similar to buckle 417 found at Swan Lane, London as per MoL Dress Assessories, Egan & Pritchard.

Double rectangular frame with knops at the shoulders of the central bar. The external frame has 3 scallops at each end of the frame, the central being larger. Central pin is complete and in working condition.
