Notes: Acorn terminus. Textile belt fragment remains. 3 piece construction with two plates riveted to the terminus. 2 rivets remain. The projecting terminal end of the spacer is decorated with a flattened pointed oval and a small projecting collar at its base, near to the curved ends of the attached plates.

At the open flat end, a fragment of buff coloured textile is still held in place.

Notes: Copper alloy strapend with leather intact. 2 rivets remain. 3 piece construction with central spacer. The projecting terminal end of the spacer is decorated with a flattened pointed oval and a small projecting collar at its base, near to the curved ends of the attached plates.

From old private collection. Metal detectorist find from Middleham, Yorkshire. Similar to London strap ends dating from 1270-1450.

Notes: Strap end is complete and undamaged. The plates are undecorated and have two piercings for rivets which remain. The plates terminate in a small diamond shaped point at one end and have a concave appeture with a circular cut out which has a horizonal cut a few millimetres long. The cut appears a deliberate design feature and not damage.

There is an amount of textile fragment present.

Notes: The plate is undecorated with a small point ot the very end of the plate. The plate is made from folded construction. No rivets are visible but due to the low quality of the plate, may be in situ and be revealed on further inspection.

Notes: A large openwork lyre-shaped buckle, decorated on one side only. The end has an integral plate decorated with the gothic letters "amor". The frame is decorated with a pair of grooves, with cast scrolls alongside.

Extremely fragile woven textile fragment survives, possibly silk.

Notes: Rectangular two piece construction. Textile belt fragment survives. Strap end has a singular piercing with the rivet intact.

Belt fragment is textile and remains unidentified at this stage but will undergo further testing. It is likely to be wool, as I would expect a higher quality strap fitting for use with a silk tablet-woven belt.
